ArtAID provides "United In Spirit" banner project at Ground Zero for "Sister City" London.
In response to the recent devestating terrorist attacks on London's public transportation system, killing scores of innocent civilians, ArtAID launched the "United In Spirit - Sister City" project.

In a dramatic demonstration of solidarity and sympathy with the victims of the July 7, 2005, terrorist attack, a coalition of 9/11 family groups and organizations joined together to support this extraordinary outpouring of New York's empathy with London, officially designated a "Sister City" in 2001.
Large format banners were displayed at Ground Zero where thousands of New Yorkers, visitors, and 9/11 family members expressed this solidarity by adding personal notes, before delivering the banners to London.

This time the extraordinary outpouring of human spirt flows out of New York. A reminder of those remarkable days shortly after September 11th, when expressions of sympathy and condolens flowed into New York from all parts of the nation and the world. The ArtAID "Sister City" banner project will show Londoners that accross the ocean we are "United in Spirit" and will stand strong together in response to the terrorist's attempt to weaken our resolve. |

This United In Spirit Project is very much rooted in the response to New York City after September 11th sent by Oklahoma City, also affected by a tragic loss of innocent civilian lives as a result of a terrorist bombing. Shortly after 9/11 the banner above arrived and was hung at St. Paul's Chapel where rescue and recovery workers were stationed.
