The Picture above shows the original concept for the Staten Island Memorial proposal. The names of all Staten Islanders, personal biographies and photographic likeness etched into translucent glass with a view toward the World Trade Center.

Special illumination techniques creates a dramatic experience of the names. Hydroponic water supply makes sure flowers brought by visitors last.

Based on this beautiful and sensitive submission, the ArtAID September 11 Memorial for Staten Island was selected by the jury from hundreds of entrys for the next phase of the competition. |
